We’ve got a brand new website and a whole bunch of work to share from the last year!
Back in February, DHD had the pleasure of photographing one of the sweetest newborns, Ava. We were so excited to find a house flooded with morning light (and love! and awesome parents!) upon arrival. The big bowed window in the family’s living room provided the perfect make-shift studio for Ava’s photographic debut.
Ava’s “brothers” – two Eskimo dogs – stayed close by the whole time, already quite protective of the new member of the family. During shooting, feeding, and gentle shushing, her canine companions stayed close by the whole time.
Ava preferred to remain in-arms for most of the shoot; the great thing about newborn sessions is that they all differ so greatly! Sometimes we get to “costume” and post our sweet little clients à la Anne Geddes, and other times we have the opportunity to flex our photo journalistic muscles and also get some sweet details of parents doing what they spend most of the first few weeks doing – snuggling their new dd
Of course, when we get the opportunity to arrange a tutu around a snoozing baby and quickly slip a bow on her teeny head, we run with it! Little Ava wasn’t too fond of the “posing” game, but we did manage to snap a couple of her un-swaddled.
It was such a pleasure making beautiful photographs and capturing the details of newborn awesomeness for this amazing family. We look forward to freezing more moments in time for them as little Ava grows!
